VACCINE ELIGIBILTY

All Michigan residents aged 12 and older are now eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. All residents aged 18 and older are also eligible to receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Residents can schedule appointments through their hospital group, other vaccine providers, or by calling 1-866-610-3885 for an appointment at a Wayne County COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Transportation assistance is also available.

Team, as a reminder, please do not have cell phones out on the plant floor. We have provided a phone charger locker/sanitizer in the Café for you to store your phone if you choose. Lights inside the locker will sanitize your phone while it charges during your shift.

Reminder – VERY IMPORTANT! Employees who are absent from work due to experiencing Covid-19 symptoms (Yes to any of the questions below) are required to get a test immediately and report back to us. We also need you to call in under the normal process and update the survey in the upper right hand corner of this page.

If you are not reporting to work, DO NOT USE THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING SURVEY. Please report your absence using the call off line immediately (313-586-2450, leave a message if call is not answered).  All Bridgewater employees should be reporting to work at this point. If you are a No Call / No Show then attendance rules will apply.

BWI Detroit Updated Mask Policy

Based on the latest CDC guidelines, masks will again be mandatory at BWI Detroit starting August 5th regardless of the vaccination status. There is currently no timing for the elimination of all masks in our facility. Please contact Elena Jacob, Plant Manager if you have any questions.

Operating Pattern Changes

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Beginning August 2, 2021, BWI Detroit’s DS program will be converting to an A, B, and C shift pattern, 4 days 10 hours. The hours are as follows: A shift is Monday – Thursday 5:00 – 15:30, B shift is Wednesday 16:30 – 3:00, and C shift Friday/Saturday 5:00 – 15:30 and Monday/Tuesday 16:30 – 3:00. If you are a current fulltime BWI employee and have interest in changing shifts, please see our human resources department to complete a “shift preference” request form.

Plant Focus – AMS

One of the plant’s focus will be AMS. In the past, this plant was very successful in launching and maintaining AMS therefore, I am very confident we can get to the same levels, if not better than before. You will begin to see more activity and improvements in our plant’s overall operations. These actions cannot take place without the involvement of our entire team. It is imperative that we adapt to these changes. So please, if you have suggestions, ideas, and/or something you think will make us a better team, please share your ideas.

For those that are unaware of the meaning of AMS or may need a refresher, please reference the slides with some basic information (Click Here). And as always, any of the management team can guide you and answer any questions regarding AMS.

Fitness Center

The fitness center will reopen on 09/21/2020. Hours of operation will be 4:30AM-5:30PM. If you are planning on using the fitness center, please complete the form below and return your completed forms to HR. The work-out area has been off limits due to Covid.  Recent modifications will now allow up to 4 to exercise at one time.  Please observe social distancing and sanitation guidelines.

As most of you know by now, Bridgewater Detroit/Adient has been awarded the Ford Mustang – Electric business. Below is a brief summary of the program. In addition to this program coming to our home base plant here in Detroit, the company has been awarded the trim and foam business. For those of you veterans that have experienced the challenges of directed suppliers, you realize the “win” this brings to our program.
